South West College (SWC) is celebrating after being shortlisted in three of nine categories at the 2026 Open College Network (OCN) NI Learning Endeavour Awards, recognising the outstanding achievements of both learners and staff across the College.

Hosted at Titanic Belfast, the OCN NI Learning Endeavour Awards celebrate exceptional individuals and organisations from across Northern Ireland who have demonstrated achievement, resilience and innovation in learning.

Among those shortlisted in the ‘Further Education Learner of the Year’ category are SWC Omagh Level 2 Traineeship in IT students Adrians Armans and Alison Russell, alongside Dungannon Level 2 IT trainee Iseoluwa Alabi.

In addition to the learner nominations, SWC has been shortlisted for the ‘Advancing Learning Through Innovation’ award for its Level 4 Data Analytics OCN (SkillUp) provision part funded by DfE Skills Focus. The nomination recognises the introduction of OneNote and LessonUp as active learning tools, which have enhanced learner engagement, focus and achievement.

The College has also been shortlisted for the ‘Provider of the Year’ award, recognising its innovative partnership with OCN NI and commitment to inclusive, flexible learning. Through strong progression pathways, including Level 1 Vocational Skills, Essential Skills, Digital ICT and sustainability-focused Grasp provision, SWC supports diverse learners to build confidence, overcome barriers and progress into further learning, traineeships, employment and active community participation, supported by dedicated staff, employer engagement and innovative technology.

The awards shortlist features nominees from across Northern Ireland, with winners set to be announced at a gala celebration at Titanic Belfast on Tuesday 23 June.
