Funding Support for Students
The programme is geared toward those aged 16+ who are school leavers, recently redundant, the long term unemployed, economically inactive and parents returning to work within the Fermanagh Omagh & Mid Ulster District Council areas.
This project is part funded through the Northern Ireland Social Fund Programme 2014 -2020 and the Department for the Economy
Are you interested in gaining employment or accessing qualifications/specialised training in the following areas? Customer Service, Childcare, Office Skills, Personal Success & Wellbeing, Digital Skills, Money Management, Welding or Essential Skills.
The programme is tailored to the individual needs of the participant.
Establish what you want to get from the programme and we work with you to design an Action Plan. Built into this action plan is dedicated 1:1 mentoring support, assistance with childcare, lunch and travel as well as access to a range of Level 1 qualifications and short accredited courses.
Will see you start on your qualification journey and this will be supported by a locally sourced workplacement. Regular Jobsearch activities, industry visits and again dedicated 1:1 mentoring support will help progress you into your destination of choice. Qualifications include Business Admin, Customer Service, Construction, Essential Skills, Barista, Holistic Therapies to name a few.
Your progression into Full, Part or self employment or if you prefer support to progress into Further or Higher Education and Apprenticeships.
A 12 month aftercare package will provide you with the support and guidance to continue to flourish in your destination of choice.

This is the largest tailor-made programme at South West College with over 400 participants a year and over 30% entering local and sustainable employment. A team of 15 dedicated mentors/ facilitators as well as 9 years of links with local businesses and support organisations will ensure all your needs are met on a 1:1 basis. A suite of Level 1 qualifications and short accredited courses means there is something for everyone.
