Overview

BTEC First Diploma in Business is a vocationally related qualification, where learners develop knowledge and understanding by applying their learning and skills in a work-related context. BTEC First Diploma in Business is popular and effective because it enables learners to take responsibility for their own learning and to develop skills that are essential for the modern-day workplace. These skills include: teamworking, working from a prescribed brief, working to deadlines, presenting information effectively, accurately completing administrative tasks and processes.

Learners will take a total of 10–12 units to complete this qualification. The number of units taken is dependent on the size of optional units selected, the combination of all units should total 480 guided learning hours (GLH). These units will include: ● six mandatory units (totalling 240 GLH) ● three to six optional specialist units (totalling 240 GLH). This BTEC First Diploma has units that are centre assessed (internal) and units that Pearson sets and marks (external).

  • Students will study up to 6 optional units

    A minimum of two GCSEs at Grade C or above is required.

    Module will be assessed through a mixture of internal assessments and external exams

    BTEC Level 3 in Business

    BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Diploma in Business will give learners opportunities to link education and the world of work in engaging, relevant and practical ways It will enable learners to enhance their English and mathematical competence in relevant, applied scenarios It will support learners’ development of transferable interpersonal skills, including working with others, problem solving, independent study and personal, learning and thinking skills It will give learners a route through education that has clear progression pathways to further study or an Apprenticeship.
