The Level 3 Award in assessing vocational achievement is aimed at those who are working and assessing in classroom/simulated environments. You need to have access to a minimum of 2 students to gain the practical unit. Please note that this qualification does not allow you to assess competence in the work place that is a different unit/qualification. The programme can start at any time subject to an interview and initial assessment.
The units must be processed through your organisations quality assurance programmes before you can be deemed competent and you will need to have someone who is a qualified assessor to countersign all of your decisions until you are qualified.
You must be working with a minimum of 2 students who are on approved qualifications that require the “assessor’s award”. You will need to be able to follow the organisations quality assurance processes and have someone to countersign your assessment decisions.
For practitioners who assess knowledge and/or skills in vocationally related subject areas who use the following assessment methods: assessments in simulated environments, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL. This may take place in training workshops, classrooms or other learning environment. In order to achieve this qualification you must complete the knowledge unit and the practical unit. The practical assessment unit requires that you are working with or can support a minimum of 2 students through a complete unit of their qualification.
